From next April 1st until September 30th of this year is the submission period for participating in the IV Edition of the Castillo de Canena Olive Cultivation Research Award “Luis Vañó”, which once again has the support of the University of Jaén (Spain) and University of California Davis (USA).
The main novelty introduced in this call is that, for the first time in the history of the Prize in 2011, it will be possible to present papers already published in scientific journals and that represent an important contribution to the research in some of the following thematic areas: Olivar and Environment, Olive and health oils, Olive oils and quality, Management of the olive grove by-products and olive oils.
The winner research paper will obtain a prize consisting of six thousand euros and a certificate plaque. Moreover, 1000 copies of the winning paper shall be published in Spanish and English, as it was done in the previous edition, in which has won the document named “AN EFFECTIVE METHOD, ECONOMICALLY VIABLE, AND RESPECT TO THE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE BACTROCERA OLEAE OLIVE FLY CONTROL” authored by Meelad Yousef, Inmaculada Garrido Jurado, Manuel Ruiz Torres and Enrique Quesada Moraga”
