The Mediterranean diet based on extra virgin olive oil is much more effective in reducing risk of type 2 diabetes that diets do not incorporate EVOO, according to a scientific study conducted by PREDIMED.
This study, supported by American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, explains that diets high in saturated fats increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, while replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats is associated with a lower risk.
